Tamer Tamar

I am a Zurich-based photographer focused on the dynamics of social change and human journey.

My upbringing in Turkey and international marketing career fuelled my photographic interest in the human impact of globalization. After publishing my first book “Spirit of Turkey’s Gezi uprising” in 2013, I made a mid-career move into photography.

I have exhibited in Barcelona, Zurich, Washington D.C., Istanbul and Tehran and published refugee and pre-conflict documentary stories in Zurich Zeitung, Luxembourg Times, Magma Magazine and beyond. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to provoke and open up people’s minds through visual art and have no doubt that every little counts.
