Rodrigo Lodi's new book of poetry & photographs: Moons over Ethiopia
In Lodi’s words:
To experience Moons Over Ethiopia, you have to understand: it is not a picture book. It is not a word book. It is a book of feeling, a book of the night, a book of the day. To taste two absolutely different stories, but connected by cultures that try to remain intact to our touch. To taste Ethiopia, you must not be in a hurry. You have to be like a poem: in peace, even when there’s trouble inside.
Below is an excerpt from the book:
feeling is time
nothing seems to change
nothing is what it was before
life take its own path
the importance of greatness is as small as we are
sun tell us colors, scales, steps
even when cold inside
horizon does not end at the eyes
stars do not end in the brief darkness of the sky.
commonplace for images,
immense for those who feel
animals, people, wind.
tension exists, but it is not seen
peace is many, but it is not understood
our tissues feel it all at the same time
that’s how small we are
that’s how great it is
